Nothing about science today, and not even a drawing or painting — just a photo I took while biking home yesterday that reminded me that I have one of the best commutes on the planet.
It rained yesterday, perhaps marking the start of the wet season in Eugene and the end of the typically dry, sunny summers. A beautiful rainbow over the Willamette River helped ease the transition. Look carefully for the double rainbow. (The location of the pot of gold is also pretty clear.)
My brother, in Atlanta, notes that though the view is nice, it “doesn’t beat staring at the same Honda Civic’s license plate for 1.5 hours in 95 degree heat.”
Also yesterday, in a park I ride by close to home, a group of high-school-age boys were playing croquet.
